Do you know snoring can damage your health?
Unbelievable? In fact, snoring can be an early warning sign of a dangerous, even fatal medical condition known as Obstructive sleep Apnea. A person with Obstructive Sleep Apnea actually stops breathing while asleep. When one doesn't breathe, the oxygen level in the blood is reduced. This will certainly cause serious health problems.

Snoring may increase stroke risk.
Researchers found that people who sleep more than eight hours a night, snore, or who often feel drowsy during the day may have a higher risk of stroke.

People like that are more likely to suffer from sleep Apnea, a sleep disturbance marked by snoring that causes a person to stop breathing for short period, which in turn cases them to sleep lightly and this makes them sleepy during the day.

If you snore severely or have trouble staying awake during the day, you should see a doctor to find out why. As those may be the signs of Sleep Apnea, which is associated with an increased risk of stroke.

What is insomnia? What is the common cause of it?
Insomnia is defined as trouble falling asleep, awaking in the middle of the night, or premature waking. Insomnia can be related to stress, medications, mental or emotional problems such as anxiety and depression, and medical conditions such as arthritis (or any condition that causes pain). Restful sleep can also be affected by other sleep conditions (e.g., restless leg syndrome) or poor pre-sleep habits, such as consuming alcohol or caffeine too close to bedtime. Insomnia can be temporary, occasional, or chronic.

Insomnia can be the cause of accidents. Studies found that accidents involving motor vehicles or machine tools occurred twice as often in persons with moderate or severe daytime sleepiness, compared with those without daytime sleepiness. As many as 100,000 automobile accidents in the U.S. and 1,500 deaths from such accidents are caused by sleepiness. Experts believe that drowsy driving may account for as many automobile crashes as drunk driving.
