| The contents of this book mainly include anatomy of the auricle, location, function and indication of auricular points, various methods of auricular acupuncture therapy, auricular diagnosis, and auricular treatment. On the bases of introduction to the fundamental knowledge of auricular acupuncture, emphasis is put to the practical knowledge or clinical application. For compiling this book, we made many efforts in the following aspects:
Diseases selected carefully: Any therapy has its indications, so does the auricular acupuncture therapy. According to the author’s experience, auricular acupuncture may be highly effective for some diseases but not for all diseases. Therefore, only those that are sensitive to auricular acupuncture are selected. A total of 40 diseases were discussed.
Methods explained in detail: In order to suit the reader’ use, different treatment methods of auricular acupuncture are explained in detail, such as needling, intradermal-needle-embedding, seed-pressing, drug injection, magnetic therapy and bleeding therapy. Furthermore, according to the features of each disease, we introduced the suitable methods so that the readers may select one of these for their convenience.
Words and illustration being combined: To facilitate clinical practice, each disease is attached an illustration marked with all auricular points being used. Therefore, the readers can perform treatment without reviewing the previous knowledge. |
