The
author has drawn upon his unique clinical experience
to describe the assessment and acupuncture treatment
of 63 musculoskeletal and soft tissue conditions.
The contents describe treatment for disorders of
the head and neck (including torticollis, TMJ, cluster
headache, and migraine), disorders of the trunk
(including intercostal neuralgia, ligament injury,
lumbar spondylosis, and acute lower back sprain),
upper limb conditions (including scapular fracture
sequelae, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, scapulohumeral
periarthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome), and
lower limb conditions (including bursitis, sprain,
neuritis, plantar pain, and peritendinitis). In
addition to information on syptoms, clinical manifestations,
insertion technique, needling depth, and needling
precautions, the author has included Western perspectives
and integrative models of treatment. There is a
series of diagrams that illustrate the location
of the points utilized. Lu Shao Jie is Chief Physician
