BEGINNING YOUR PRACTICE
Even if you are becoming familiar with Chinese medicine and philosophy, using Chinese Health Balls will be rather strange and awkward at first. But don’t get discouraged! We will describe some exercises to help you get comfortable and help you integrate your Chinese Health Balls practice into your lifestyle.
To start with, it is a good idea not to use balls that are too large for your hand. Moreover, it is best to choose a safe place to practice, because there is a chance that you could drop the balls and damage them or the floor or objects around you. Practice above an area that is well-padded with something soft and yielding.
Take your time to get used to the balls, and make sure you're in a comfortable position when you practice. It doesn't matter whether you are sitting, standing, or reclining, as long as you're comfortable. It's also good to walk while you practice, but wait until you have mastered the technique to some extent.
WARMING UP FOR YOUR CHINESE HEALTH BALLS
1. Its a good idea to start by warming up your hands. Some ways of doing this are:
2. Make a fist-with your thumb outside the palm-and then stretch open your hand as far as possible. Repeat this several times with each hand.
3. Interlace your fingers and then bend your wrists away from your body so that the tips of your fingers are pressed firmly against the back of your hands. Repeat this.
4. With your hand slightly open, touch the tips of all your fingers with your thumb, moving from left to right, then from right to left; then repeat this. 
5. Fold your hands. Stretch your thumbs. Rub your thumbs together--including the balls of the thumbs--while keeping your hands folded.
HOW TO USE THEM:

The balls are placed in one hand and rotated in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. This exercise will keep all of the points in one's hand in constant motion, with the muscles in one's fingers and forearms contracting and relaxing harmoniously.
Maintenance:
Balls are made of pleasing materials such as China jade or metals, and should be kept dry and clean. Also avoid violently knocking them against each other.
