The Air Neck Traction NeckSoft Mag-3 / Mag-4, is a light, portable, and powerful dynamic neck collar with a considerable range of traction. The low and high pressure air chambers provide comfort even during traction, and use normal physiological force to provide safe, non-damaging treatment while effectively protecting the cervical tract.
3 or 4 Layers, plus biomagnetics
Constructed of inner latex chambers and comfortable fabric covers, the NeckSoft Mag-3 offers three traction layers of gentle pressure, while the NeckSoft Mag-4 has four chambers for enhanced relaxation, more effective application, and greater range of stretch. The Mag-4 is also perfect for larger-sized persons (up to 27cm range). Additionally, both models provide biomagnetic field exposure (which improves healing according to the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine) using magnets at the rear centers of the air chambers.

Choosing the Correct Size
Both the Necksoft Mag-3 and Mag-4 deliver strong neck traction. The difference between them is their height when fully pressurized. Length of neck and strength of traction desired play a role in choosing. For many, the Mag-3 will give strong neck traction even before it reaches its fully-inflated height. In general, the Mag-3 is suitable for average and smaller persons. Larger people (5 feet 10 inches or taller), or those with longer necks, may benefit from the extra extension height given by the Mag-4. If uncertain, have someone measure the distance from your collarbone to jawbone, and compare that with the height-of-rise of the two models to get a sense of traction provided (For full information, return to the chart and diagrams on the Neck Traction main page). If in doubt, and for serious conditions, consult your doctor on the correct height for you. Always pay careful attention to any discomfort while inflating the Necksoft.

Gradual Use
The NeckSoft Mag neck traction should first be used at low pressure (i.e., giving low traction force) for 5 -10 minutes, slowly increasing up to 20 - 25 minutes, 2 to 3 times daily. After a session of neck traction, it is best to release the air slowly and gradually (not suddenly). |

Undo velcro straps, place device around neck (valve to the left), and fasten velcro straps at the front. First-time users should put it on in front of a mirror.

Close the inflation/deflation valve (Fig. B) by turning clockwise.

Hand-pump until you achieve the right traction angle and right amount of stretch/relief, according to comfort or as prescribed by your doctor. If you require more pressure on one side (left/right), pull the opposite side (left/right) of the bottom air chamber partially away from your neck, ensuring you have separated the velcro patch connecting the bottom chamber to the chamber above it.

Before pumping is finished, you can pinch closed the top chamber ball valve (3) to keep upper air chamber (1) softer for patient comfort—see Fig. A.

When optimal pressure is reached, pinch to close the central ball valve (5) to prevent air from leaking out.

Begin gently with minor and medium traction 1-2 times a day, then move on to major traction if comfortable. Although the NeckSoft Mag 3 & 4 can be used while lying down, for maximum results use while sitting (including while watching TV, working on the computer, traveling, etc.). The device can be used up to 2-3 times a day for a maximum of 20-30 minutes each time (but only 1-3 minutes for major traction). Although generally one cycle of treatments is 10-20 days, the NeckSoft Mag 3/4 can be used for an extended amount of time provided you have consulted your doctor.

After use, first pinch back the ball (5)—see Fig. A—into open position, exhausting air as naturally as possible by gradually releasing the deflation valve (Fig B). Do not strongly squeeze the device to force out air quickly.

Caution: Do not: Sleep with it on, Use as a neck brace, Use with recent acute, or sprain/strain injuries. Do: Use only as prescribed by your doctor if applying to serious injury.

Follow your doctor's directions if prescribed, and relax as much as possible during use. |

If discomfort occurs during use, expel air slowly, adjust angle and pressure until discomfort disappears, then try again. |

When doing medium or major traction, you may prefer to close the low-pressure air chamber before pumping is finished so that the upper air chamber remains comfortably soft. |

Major traction should follow 30-60 minutes of minor or medium traction. Repositioning of traction must follow doctor's directions. |

If the valve appears to repel air during pumping, use a wooden toothpick to clear the air intake in the bottom of valve. |

Avoid sharp objects or forceful handling of NeckSoft during use. |
| 7. |
Avoid leaving NeckSoft filled with air while unused. But store with a little air still in it to prolong product life. |
